Working with NHS Highland through Hub North to support the development of an Initial agreement (IA) for investment in Health and Social care in Lochaber, in a new Rural General Hospital.
Work progressed to support for Capacity modelling, Design Development and Community Services redesign as part of the Outline Business Case (OBC), in alignment with Scottish Capital Investment Manual (SCIM) guidelines, for submission to the Scottish Capital Investment Group.
Elements of the approach
A combination of 1 to 1 meetings, stakeholder workshops and site visits enabled the approach. Workshops involved clinical and operational staff, and key outputs were shared with public representatives to ensure a broad range of views were gathered. The IA was approved in May 2022 by the Scottish Government, Community services redesign outputs and key work-streams were developed for January 2024, RIBA Stage 2 design Development concluded in March 2024, and work is now progressing on the Outline Business Case (OBC).
