Buchan + Associates (B+A) worked with NHS Lothian in developing an early stage investment proposal to to re-provide its existing Hospital Sterilisation and Decontamination (HSD) service in order to ensure the Board can continue to provide surgical and other clinical services for which decontamination of surgical instruments is essential.
In developing the Initial Agreement the Board has sought to ensure that it addressed a number of key aims including the need to improve the service it provides to its users, expand capacity to meet identified increases in demand and provide for improved service resilience. The project also looked at the potential to expand the scope of service to include the decontamination of Dental Service instrumentation.
