NHS Grampian
Location

Year
Ongoing
B+A were engaged as Healthcare planners by NHS Grampian to support the development of a new hospital to replace the existing Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, with the inclusion of breast screening, breast surgery and gynaecology services. This would become known as The Baird Family Hospital.
At the same time, the Board sought support to develop a centre for out-patient and day-patient oncology and haematology services, which would become the ANCHOR Centre (Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy).

Clinical model development
We supported key innovations and new models of care as part of their vision for the hospital for the future, this included:.
Structured workshop approach
Using B+A’s proven workshop approach, we worked with multi-disciplinary teams to understand current services, identify emerging trends, assess future demand, and co-design a transformed delivery model.
Developing clinical brief documents
Working with service level leads we developed a robust set of Clinical Output Specifications and a Schedule of Accommodation for each project.
Concurrent
development
Although managed as separate projects, the two - Baird Family Hospital and ANCHOR Centre - were interlinked in terms of concurrent site development.
